Same as on the bird app. I talk about D&D and other geeky things. Hablo español. Twitter Rambler. Old DM. Older handle http://twitch.tv/newbiedm http://youtube.com/c/NewbieDM
But is there anything in 2024 dnd that makes dMing easier, more fun, or a must-do! What is the selling point for DMs to switch? Tougher monsters might be one. What else? Why should a DM take the lead and switch for their group?
Star Wars: The Rebellion Strikes Back opening crawl.

Just got out. Amazing. What a movie. But the fan service discourse is gonna be wild.
I've finished the overlays for the alternate history Star Wars campaign I hope to run next year, The Rebellion Strikes Back. I was going for a vintage feel, as it's an alternate Episode V campaign, and I think I mostly got it by going with the Kenner action figure card feel.
My monsters are all dumb brutes.

I have a pet peeve, and it's that a lot of tactical games aren't very good about teaching GMs how to be tactical and how to think tactically as monsters about to face a party of PCs.

1 DM vs a party of 5 PCs working together tactically will never be a fair fight, as 5 brains are better than 1. And that's fine, it should always swing for the PCs anyway.

Rules can be clear. Rules can be complete. But if the game doesn't teach how it's meant to be played, it is not a very good game.

Seeing tokens on a map slide around like a 4e battlemap does not scream "Cinematic!" to me. Not gonna lie.

If they figured out how to avoid combat slogs while staying tactical god bless 'em.

"Tactical" and "Cinematic" in a sentence together referring to an rpg is an interesting pitch. I'm curious.
Finished the first semester of my masters today. Two As. Good so far. 🤣👍
Managing one twitter-like social media is a lot for me. Two and three are just non starters. The question becomes, Mastodon or Bluesky? Can't be both.
