I'm a technology enthusiast and gamer. I'm not terribly active on social media, but I'm making an attempt.

@jaleshunas I know nothing of ficus, but is that shallow dish really able to accommodate that plant? That's wild.
@jaleshunas I love how those flowers look. Are they based on a real flower? The conical petals (?) look so neat.

@westmeadow I think the long-term assuming more and more can be automated, we're definitely going to need something like UBI. I'm sure the rich and powerful will wait until society is on the edge of collapse from unemployment before we move in a good direction though.

I'm pretty hopeful humanity will /eventually/ get to a point where instead of having to work just to survive most people are free to do the things they are passionate about and let computers do everything else. It just might be a rough journey to that point.

@linkeddev for me it's the awkward part of the year where it's cold af in the morning and way too hot in the afternoon so I'm constantly having to switch between ac and heat. Will have to try folding@home overnight and see if that helps lol.
Just got a PSVita and started messing around with homebrew on it. Wish I had one of these back in the day, seems like it would have been a really nifty device back then.
@ann3nova When everything made the move to wide aspect ratios when CRT went out of fashion, I was a diehard 16x10 widescreen user for ages solely because I didn't want to give up my 1200p vertical resolution.
@westmeadow I never cared much about clothing, and pretty much my entire wardrobe was faded, worn, and in some instances literally falling apart - just a necessity I didn't want to allocate any thought or care to. Last year instead of replacing it with the cheapest options, I actually started trying to find high-quality items of clothing. Nothing fancy, but quality, durable, well-fitting clothes that hopefully will withstand time and wear better. It's made a huge difference and actually made me appreciate the clothing and look forward to dressing each day. It might just be due to the sunk cost fallacy, but I think it's been a genuine improvement to my wellbeing and well worth it.
The last week or so was quite harrowing as I had 3 HDDs fail in my homelab setup at the same time. I perform offsite backups, but apparently hadn't tested them in quite some time and it took multiple days just to troubleshoot why the restores wouldn't work. Definitely drives home the importance of testing that sort of thing on a regular basis.
These bright pink blossoms are quite the contrast to an otherwise gloomy day.
@atlrvrse Or it's maybe just what they like and find funny? Different generations do tend to prefer different types of media so it's not necessarily about "trying to stay hip and cool".
