The bar is always fun at 9 PM.

But that bar never stops serving, and more people just keep coming in the door.

Just wait until 4 AM.

iOS 18.2, which includes major improvements to Apple Intelligence, is likely to arrive the week of Dec. 2, barring any unexpected delays. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2024-11-03/apple-finally-finds-its-game-console-rival-with-the-new-m4-and-m4-pro-mac-minis-m31na57p
Apple Finally Finds Its Game Console Rival With the New M4 and M4 Pro Mac Minis

The new Mac mini could become Apple’s long-awaited answer to the PlayStation and Xbox. Also: The company’s next AI features are planned for early December; it delivers disappointing earnings guidance and agrees to acquire Pixelmator; and Peloton’s new CEO is Apple’s former services heir apparent.

@goodlinks any plans for email newsletters integration? I love in @omnivore that you can have a unique email that newsletters can be sent to

I didn't think this was possible but the real disappointment of the day isn't Apple Intelligence – it's the "updated" Magic accessories.

They literally just…swapped the Lightning port for USB-C. No multi-device pairing, no design changes, nothing else.

The mouse still has the charging port at the bottom too. 😂

Apple Releases Magic Keyboard, Trackpad, and Mouse with USB-C

Today, Apple finally released USB-C versions of the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad in white and black. The accessories don’t appear to have changed substantially from the models they replace, except for the fact that they can be connected to a Mac and charged using a standard USB-C cable instead of a Lightning

Two dead ends…
@omnivore any timelines for the app and iOS 18? Really missing the old icon

For reference, for the people saying I shouldn't raise my price:

Pocket Casts: $40/year
The Podcast App: $37/year
Castbox: $35/year
Castro: $25/year

Overcast: $10/year

I have no problem telling everyone this now: I'm raising my price in the near future.

I've only waited this long because I wanted to give you some new stuff at the same time!

NEW: Dan Riccio, Apple’s Vision Pro chief and former head of hardware engineering, is retiring from Apple. The Vision Pro team is moving under John Ternus. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-10-09/apple-s-dan-riccio-key-executive-in-both-the-jobs-and-cook-eras-to-retire?srnd=undefined

Hi! I plan to start cross-posting to Mastodon, Threads, and Bluesky simultaneously rather than linking/posting to the greater fediverse from a single account.

If you hope for me to see a reply, your best bet is to respond on Threads or—if you don’t mind a delay—Mastodon. Toodles!

Sad news, but Juno for YouTube has been removed from the App Store. It's been a ton of fun to build, thanks to all who used it and enjoyed it! 🫡❤️ https://christianselig.com/2024/10/juno-removed/
Juno for YouTube has been removed from the App Store

For those not aware, a few months ago after reaching out to me, YouTube contacted the App Store stating that Juno does not adhere to YouTube guidelines and modifies the website in a way they don’t approve of, and alludes to their trademarks and iconography. I don’t personally agree with this, as Juno is just a web view, and acts as little more than a browser extension that modifies CSS to make the website and video player look more “visionOS” like.
