I had to take a break from Masto for a bit around GDC time. Honestly GDC is a touchy subject for me (coming from a place of I’m too poor to do GDC without risking being homeless) and being around game developer peers during and post GDC made me equal portions sad and envious.

Unionisation is not a personal attack on the CEO, owners, leads, or management of a company. It's about building systemic change that benefits all as equally as possible.

If any industry should understand how building systems encourages certain interactions, games is it.

Unionisation is an agreement for fair treatment of all workers negotiated collectively. It's about equality.

If a company fights unionisation, they're saying they don't trust and respect their workers. Simple as.
