@decryption I did exactly this with my old gaming PC. Installed Fedora Seever CLI, use Cockpit to manage terminal from my Windows laptop. Graphics card doesn’t sweat transcoding and compression. Usenet is great for most popular things. Quality is great. Can download locally to kids tablets with Plex pass. And you don’t have to deal with browsing fatigue where streamers overload you with their terrible interfaces. It’s almost too good.
@laprice You're right, I misunderstood prior reports on his legal issues. However, if these go to trial and he's convicted, doesn't he just go to jail? How could he win the Presidency while in jail? It's a mess.
@paul your weather is bullshit.
@JamesGleick The unwritten truth is that what the American voter thinks is largely irrelevant. The law operates outside of popular opinion. Trump will likely be convicted, prevented from running for office and possible sent to jail. There's no poll that can save him from that.
@absolutspacegrl remember when scott adams was considered the "smart" trump supporter.

#Diablo 's loops weren't as addictive because they couldn't nail down the power fantasy aspect from D3. Characters leveled too slowly, and didn't feel powerful. I think that fixed some of it. But too late to get hooked now.
@jeffjarvis I read the piece, the answer implied seems to be that people need to write less confidently, less self assured and more curious. Which is antithetical to what the algorithms “reward”. I get that.
@reginagrogan I think it depends on a few factors. The vast majority of people I run into use an OS like a glorified browser launcher. Google figured this out with great success with ChromeOS. In this use case, Ubuntu w/ Firefox might be near fool proof, if hardware compatibility checks out. However if they have needs outside of a Web Browser launcher, yeah, problems could arise.
@mimsical The next phase of America's obsession with massive tank-like vehicles. First it was the cars, then it was the crossovers, then it was the compact SUVs, then it was the mid sized SUVs, then it started to become the body-on-frame Truck SUVs and now we're approaching just driving the M1 Abrams to work.
@davidrevoy looks like the fox from that video game Tunic.
