VASSAL 3.7.7 Released The Vassal Team is happy to announce the release of Vassal 3.7.7. IMPORTANT There is now a single universal app bundle for MacOS. It runs natively on both 64-bit x86 (Intel) and 64-bit ARM (Apple Silicon) Macs. Modules saved in 3.7 are not openable by earlier versions of Vassal. We recommend keeping a backup copy of any pre-3.7 modules you plan to modify in 3.7 until you’ve verified that everything works to your satisfaction. Things may be broken which worked previously. ...

Pierre Vagneur-Jones and @DrCrossbows have started a very cool new podcast series on ACW games called "We Intend To Move On Your Works" through the Homo Ludens channel and I had the pleasure of hosting the first episode, as a temporary replacement for @fredserval. Don't mind me and enjoy their chat about 1980's Manassas by Rick Britton, soon to be (?) re-released by Compass Games.

We Intend To Move On Your Works - Episode 1 : Manassas by Homo Ludens Podcast

In this new series, a southerner and two Anglo-Frenchmen play through the American Civil War in approximately chronological order, discussing the Lost Cause and how wargames have chosen to portray what is arguably the United States' most significant war as they play each game. For the fist episode, Stuart and Pierre will talk about Manassas, a board game created by Rick Britton and published by Iron Crown Enterprises, recreates the First Battle of Manassas (also known as Bull Run) which took place in 1861 during the American Civil War. The game's design offers players a thrilling and immersive experience by providing a great tactical feel for the battle. With its sprawling gameplay, Manassas allows players to strategize and maneuver their units across the battlefield, making it a great option for history enthusiasts and gamers alike. Interestingly, Manassas holds a unique place in the history of Iron Crown Enterprises, as it is the only historical board game ever produced by the company. It can be played as a two-player game or with up to four players, making it a versatile option for gaming groups of different sizes.
