@pgaskell Beautiful! What a gorgeous way to start the day.

The picture is from a picture book called Findus and Pettson. It’s aimed at 4 year olds and has light hearted stories about a farmer, his cat and his chickens. It’s designed to help teach preschool children to learn about reading and learn about colors and things. Usually the cat gets into silly situations and has adventures. Don’t know who used it as a meme but there you go.
@Zumbador I find insects like that to be so strange and lovely. Growing up in Scotland there aren’t many bugs that look like that. I still can’t get over the walking stick bugs and praying mantis that we sometimes get here in Kentucky.
@Island_Martha Aww she looks a bit annoyed. My girl was watching the birds earlier and she seemed appalled at how many there were, “There are too many birds. We must do something!!” She’s an indoor cat and I don’t think she would have a clue if she ever got close to a bird.
Made bread today for the first time in ages. Used my Oxford t-towel over the top to proof it. I’d forgotten how lovely it is with all the details drawn on. I don’t tend to notice it most the time. Made me reminisce about Oxford. I don’t miss living in Surrey but I do miss Oxford loads! #food #bread
@Heliograph @ahermitforhire Actually that was one of my favorite films growing up. 😀
@Zumbador What a magical little friend!
@hex Happy Birthday!!!

@dyani
You could also look for any local nature preserves as they usually have a walking trail and sometimes free nature talks and guided walks.

Parks and rec are good for ideas too. Our local swimming pool is $5 a time, but you can stay as long as you want. They also will sometimes have free classes.

Depending on where you are, your local art museum might have free entry (for local residents) or free entry once a month.

@dyani I really enjoy logging butterflies and insects on the INature App. My library is pretty cool for groups and free events. I found out that ours has a 3D printer and also a kiln.

Volunteering is a cool way to meet people and get out. If you’re into horses there are tons of places that would love help.

I go to classes at the local extension office. There’s been a ton of free gardening lectures and you normally get starts of plants too.

Hiking is pretty cheap and cheerful.
