DO ALL THE THINGS! *insert_old_meme_here*
Oooh, squirrel!

Old posts automatically deleted after 6 months.

Guess who took a few weeks (on and off) off frustrated research, as to why his #SQL migrations were failing, only to discover, that they were missing a comment (of all things)? Not this guy! (Well maybe - definitely - this guy, though 😅)
So, anyways: at least I got to write a nice little article about it: https://geekbetrieb.de/ramblings/drizzle-orm-and-statement-breakpoint/

Drizzle ORM and statement-breakpoint - geek:betrieb

Hm, stuff I learned from #AdventOfCode so far: I'm _really_ bad at algorithms in some areas and downright incompetent with regards to Dijkstra & Co. That would actually explain my grades at uni for some of those topics 😅
#AdventOfCode today (again) shows, that I'm slightly weak in the algorithms department. The first task was easy. The second crashed due to memory exhaustion. Rewriting it to be recursive, solves that problem, but the runtime is basically "next week". Thanks to inspiration from the Fediverse I then added a cache for intermediate values and got it so fast, that I actually thought I had made a mistake 😅 Smarter people can probably explain, why my partial cache (values < 1000) is so effective 🤷
Is it me not being a native English speaker or is today's #AdventOfCode ambiguous? The rules say, that an antinode has to be twice as far from an antenna, than from the other one in the pair. The examples they give are on either side of the pair. However, there are two additional nodes between the pair, that also fulfill this condition: 1/3 of the way from either antenna. Why don't those count?
Oof.. first 6 days of the Advent of Code in #Rust... Since my career has been a steady climb up in the stack from embedded software for cars at the start (in C/C++), over satellite networking (C++) and databases (C# & Java) to now frontend work (Typescript and React), I feel slightly at loss with all that algorithmic stuff. It usually takes a while to get the juices flowing and I'm sure there are better implementations. But so far I've been able to crack every task, so I'll take it. 🎉
How? How is this even remotely comfortable? This is a 5,5 kg cat sleeping squished in a box roughly the size of an A4 paper. Just looking at him I need physical therapy. I'm not even 100% sure regarding the airflow for his breathing, but he seems to find it comfy 🤷 #catsofmastodon #myweirdcat
Morning. Food? ... Ok, I'll hold still for a bit... But then food! #caturday #catsofmastodon
The kid was home sick this week and we needed to catch up with some homework. One of the tasks: use red cabbage juice to detect acids. Well, the experiments continued and now my ADHD brain ended up with trying to make soap from wood ash now. Let's see how this goes, then...
The wife also heroically opened a bottle of white wine to check, whether it was an acid or a case. Such heroism for #science!
It is an acid (according to the experiment) and tasty (according to the wife), btw.
I promise he's still alive. Just forgot about his tongue, it seems...
