@Stormgren yeah. it’d be 4d instead of 2d from Chicago. I’m considering it for a trip home.

TIL: `curl --connect-to ::192.0.0.2 http://someurl.com`

you don’t have to build the whole wrongurl:port:someurl:port mapping. just put in wrongurl’s ip.

someurl.com

@Stormgren what happens with 10g of traffic going out that port, when the asic thinks it’s at 10g? Does the [email protected] provide feedback? Do frames get dropped or corrupted for higher layers of the stack to deal with?
@Stormgren I use pushover.net these days. One time $5/device-class. I have some friends that set up twilio integrations, basically bought a bucket of credits to chew through.
@jb iirc the service/listener on one of those octet would bsod the machine. I forget how the client behaved.
@jb dating myself but pcanywhere used to have problems with .0 and .255 😬
@jb I have my k8s lab with ULA addresses. I guess you could do a dyndns of sorts with cloudflare or some other api based dns service.
@jb and a lot of host network stacks will deprioritize ULA in favor of even rfc1918 space 😔
@jb if you have a thread-enabled Apple TV or HomePod on your network, you get ULA RAs for your thread network. Also if ipv6 breaks or goes away, you surely get ULA RAs. You get a route via the Apple device but not default route. I imagine other thread/matter hubs behave similarly
@jb @jima nice, using aws features or home-rolled vpn server?
