I haven’t used twitter since I left. I thought this would be horribly painful but it’s been fine. I haven’t filled the void with mastodon - or anything - and feel almost fine with that. Huh.

I am really struggling with my complete lack of success across all dating apps across all attempts to rebrand myself. Hard not to feel like there’s something wrong with me that i can’t see. I know there’s not. Just. I could really use some comfort.

I'm sick of people saying it's easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of #capitalism. I think about the end of capitalism every day. Today I imagined what it would be like to live in a community that valued me for being present rather than "useful" or "productive." In that world, I think I would spend a lot more time taking care of plants. I would tell stories when I felt like it, instead of on deadline. What do you imagine? #ImagineTheEndOfCapitalism

Also, my proudest contribution to early mastodon culture was the concept of an Ambassador Bot. Do those still exist anywhere? Do we run one, etc?

I'm thinking I'd like to implement that again now that I know Ruby on Rails, heh.

Way back in the day I tried to ship a PR to mastodon which generated a color code from a hash of the "@hostname.whatever" part of every user's ID. I then used it to add a subtle visual hint via a partial rounded border. The effect was that you could tell at a glance which people were local, which were on common servers, and which were strangers.

They declined to merge it because it had to solution for accessibility for colorblind people to have the same behavior. I'm still not sure how to feel about that one.

Anyway, I notice we're not running core mastodon anymore, so I wanted to ask -- are we on our own fork, or should I consider contributing upstream if I wanted to try this again?

Anyway, gonna stop there in terms of revealing all of my secrets, but I hope you can see how cool this is.

The best part is that I can then ask the AI to deal me a spread -- and then _interpret it_ for me.

Here's my question to y'all. I want to sell these decks. I want to print them up and put them online for sale.

Can I ethically do that in some way while using DALL-E or Midjourney-generated art for the cards?

Initially my vision was that this is all just cheap and easy, but I want to be ethical. Is there any way to pay users for sourced artworks? Any kind of fund being collected? Anything?
