Albo seems to lack foresight.
His political penchant for caution, timidity even, doesn't seem to extend to imagining the likely fallout of acquiescing to contentious lobbyist demands.
Bridget Archer asserts:

Quite evidently that is not the case when a commercial salmon hatchery could dump oxytetracycline into the River Derwent just upstream from the water intake of New Norfolk's town population.
This isn't an 'industry'. This is simply reckless vandalism born of a contempt for nature and for fellow citizens.

It was only a week ago that the moderates in the Liberal Party were flexing their muscle privately (and some publicly), threatening a divorce with the Nationals and to walk the plank if net zero was dumped. Neither threat ever materialised.

Senator Matt Canavan, the man now running Coalition policy, puts it like this: "The only way the government can meet net zero is by telling you what car to drive, how fast you can drive it, what food you can eat …"
Real men eat meat and drive noisy cars, quickly, and as Donald Trump urges, they also "drill baby drill".
