Dear #Mastodon users: is it possible to follow just a single language content of somebody? The ability to mark content as being specific language seems a bit pointless unless you can use that metadata for anything.

As a Finn, I find this graph of death rate in Finland a bit funny looking considering that
THL (the official national "research" institution taking care of Finns) keeps telling us that COVID-19 is no longer a problem at all:

I'm a bit sad to see such a low limit on a message of a single post here, too.

I understand that the *display* of the content would be up to 500 characters by default and require reader to press "Show all" or "Read more" to view the whole content but why such low limit for posting the actual content?

I'm seriously considering to switching to Mastodon from Twitter. I originally started to use Twitter because it was the only social media service with enough users and ability to publish to the world.

Now it has built walled garden where my content is not visible to non-logged-in users and they are also considering making every logged-in user a paid user.

So every reader of *my content* would need to pay to Twitter for the privilege? Yeah, no thanks.
