A few years ago I designed a way to detect bit-flips in Firefox crash reports and last year we deployed an actual memory tester that runs on user machines after the browser crashes. Today I was looking at the data that comes out of these tests and now I'm 100% positive that the heuristic is sound and a lot of the crashes we see are from users with bad memory or similarly flaky hardware. I've used platforms such as this to find and follow people that I thought to be the best in their craft (programming), that cared about their implementation and are very intentional in their work. I guess I somewhat aspired to be them in my work.

It's mind boggling to me, to what conclusions some of them came this week, comparing LLM-written code to compiler generated bytecode. Just in a single week, standards lowered, complete resignation.

Never meet your hero's I guess.

Finally got to play The Last of Us 1 & 2. The were both amazing! I'm a bit sad, that I watched the 2nd season of the HBO show before, which spoiled me in some major ways, but nevertheless Part 2 was a crazy ride! Would recommend!

George Clooney is an actor.

Put him in the role of a surgeon in front of a camera, and he will do and say things the average non-surgeon viewer will agree are surgeonish. After an hour of that, we are, as average non-surgeon viewers, satisfied and entertained.

Put him in an operating theatre, and the patient will fucking die because he's not a surgeon and knows nothing about really doing surgery.

@stroughtonsmith is it possible that Shortcut actions for Broadcasts don't work anymore on iOS 26? I had an automation, when my alarm stops that it plays a radio station, but after updating it doesn't work anymore.
