I've decided to pull my mastodon instance out of moth balls. Still setting it up, but I will shortly be moving to exile.social.
You're welcome to join me there if you're looking for a home. I'll post again before I jump and the site is up.
@ophiesay if you're doing this from your web browser (might work from your phone or app as well, but interface varies widely there), you can take a look at the #Explore link on the right of the page, as well as the Local feed, and just scan for people/topics you're interested in.
You can do the same from the Federated feed, but it's a real grab-bag of stuff because it includes so many people, and it moves very fast. I mostly avoid it.
@ophiesay here are some quick tips, hope they help.
While Mastodon is currently awash in new guides, advice, etc. I thought I'd go ahead and repost my very concise guide for new exiles from Twitter, which I posted the last time we had a Muskening event. https://mstdn.social/@mrbitterness/108212603080565265 #TheMuskening #TwitterMigration

@gleemie you're not entirely off the mark. It was nice and quiet here a week ago, but we've also been through several of these cycles. I'd say somewhere between 5-10% actually stick around permanently.
The most obnoxious are the ppl who crosspost their twitter feed into Mastodon, but in no other way participate here. They just keep blasting their crap into Mastodon / the Fediverse.
