to any followers on mastodon.social, I'm defederating the instance. If the overt right-ward lurch from Meta, it's removal of protections for at risk & marginalized people etc. isn't enough for it to defederate from Threads, I don't trust its stewardship of its instance.

JackieFirst, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

if you've recently quit Facebook, Instagram, or other Meta properties, but you're still on an instance federating with Threads (i.e. Mastodon.Social, etc.), what are you even doing?
While there's a lot to be said positively about the flexibility of most Fedi platforms to be able to serve both small posts & article-length posts in the same feed, I think stuffing your macro-blog post into a micro-blog feed is the worst possible presentation, & lowers the chance of me reading/digesting what you're trying to say.
I much prefer a link to an external blog where the screen real-estate, formatting, browser reader-view tools, etc. make it possible for me to read in the best light.
