In college, I took a class called The Letters of Paul. I took it for two very good reasons:
1. I was (and am) named Paul.
2. The prof, Cal Roetzel, was (and is) cool.
I didn’t figure it was an especially practical course. It was for fun, for the challenge, for the cultural knowledge, for the pleasure of doing it.

SNAP Work Requirements Don’t Actually Get More People Working. They Just Make It Harder For People To Get Food.
2 emails today from local political candidates telling me about their problems—as if it's my job to solve them!
I don't care if you're fund-raising is behind some arbitrary target; I want to know how you're going to address our community's problems.
In contrast, a candidate recently reached out to say they've already got enough funds to run a solid campaign but wanted to share something valuable they could do with additional donations. That's the candidate I happily gave more money to.
