A dictation app should not be able to collect what I am saying and have the ability to send it to the authorities, nor should it be used for advertising purposes.
My main source of inspiration was MrBeast's latest video where he promoted an app called Typeless. I installed it, took a look at the privacy policy, and immediately fucked off and deleted it.
The Apple Tax strikes once again. I am not able to find any advanced dictation app on the store that doesn't force a subscription for what are supposed to be FOSS, local AI models. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that FOSS software is looked down upon so much on iOS compared to Android.

the pressure from social media worked. In systemd, age verification has finally been reverted and removed for good. Linux is always for privacy conscious users, it isn't just another Microslop SlopOS https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/41179 thanks @reddy_1975 for the heads up!

EDIT: they rejected the PR. So keep fight on! systemd folks are cowards and enabling this mess.

this is the most unhinged enter key I’ve seen in a while

Taking some further steps in Degoogling my life. I’m right now using new email providers to get off Gmail and Outlook (except for YouTube. YouTube is the one exception)

I’m also getting off Google Authenticator with an arguably better authenticator app. Small, but important steps.

Easy Steam W. They finally are testing out a 64-bit client for Linux. I’ve been waiting for this for a while!

All that’s left is for them to also allow the client to run natively on Wayland.

There’s a new feature I’ve been noticing on social media sites where they will highlight random keywords as blue and perform searches for you.

What makes me hate this feature is how incredibly similar it is to adware/malvertising software that would do the same thing, but for advertising.

There’s something uncanny when it comes to the commentator being completely normal and pausing when you have this image appearing on the screen that stares into your soul.
