I'm super skeptical about "crypto" solutionism in a lot of contexts. But the current inability to port one's followers between instances on mastodon(ie gnusocial) is a deep failing because it incentivizes the creation of groups (instances) with strong pressures to continue existing, and as a consequence immense power in the hands of a few (those able to seize control the instance itself).

das hat für mich erst mal nicht absehbare konsequenzen. macht die beiden netzwerke fast nicht mehr vergleichbar. also netzwerktheoretisch, soziologisch, praktisch, wie auch immer... macht einen deutlichen unterschied.

@pattern einfach nur: hastags auf tw.... haben alle accounts, alle listen, (fast) alle strukturen, alle taylored timelines, zeitweise auch werbung usw. unterlaufen. das ist ihr feature schlechthin..., je nach app. nur blockiert war strenge grenze.
aber hier ist die struktur der instances mächtiger als alles andere. die leitsystematik ist: following, locale, federated, nicht verbunden. alles andere ordnet sich unter.
hyperlinks (hashtags) inklusive.

ich arbeite hier immer auch mit an den listen anderer. das ist schon mal was anderes. nicht uninteressant.

@pattern unmittelbarkeit des austausches ist ja in einem netzwerk (d.h. vermittlungszusammenhang) nicht gegeben. nicht hier, und nicht auf du-weisst-schon-wo.
aber es geht mir nicht um das abgreifen von informationen, sondern umgekehrt: die möglichkeit des verknüpfens durch hyperlinks (i.e. hashtags). das netzwerk hat hier andere, dominantere strukturen, der link unterläuft sie nicht mehr so radikal wie ... drüben :)

@pattern ok. stimmt nicht, hatte ich überlesen. die #hashtagsuche durchsucht die federated timeline und gibt sie in einer eigenen liste aus, wen man den #hashtag anklickt. nur in der suche gibt es als treffer nur die in der locale timeline an

@pattern und für eine brauchbare #hashtag suche bräuchte man wohl einen @mastodon.social account, zwecks reichweite schon alleine der suche! sonst findet man nur hashtags die von meiner instance aktiv verwendet (fav, boost, etc.) werden. das heisst: es durchsucht nicht einmal die federated timeline, sondern nur die local timeline. das ist recht unbrauchbar.
oder gibt es noch andere tricks?
