The inside of my brain is like one of those 80s montages where somebody is flipping through the channels on a tv and you see all kinds of weird stuff for like half a second and then I post that here. Sorry

18+I say terrible things

6 years sober today.

I used to think sobriety would make life smaller - less wild, less weird, less fun.

As it turns out, there’s far more magic on this side.

I’ve had six years of clarity, connection, cringey dancing, bad dates, belly laughs, brutal honesty, and real joy.

No filter. No blackout. No numbing.

Just me, all in.

And I couldn’t be happier.

Thursday I met another trans friend for coffee and catching up when a customer at the shop did a transphobia, angrily yelling slurs at us.

The staff was quick on it, kicking him out, banning him, sharing security camera footage of him with the other employees to make sure he didn’t return on a different shift, and apologizing. Thank you, staff.

Another customer got up to stand near us in case things got worse. Thank you, random dude.

This is how you ally. With actions. Thank you, allies.

Tbh, Costco and Waffle House would do a better job rolling out Real ID signups
My bologna and I are regrettably no longer on a first-name basis
There may be forms of intelligent life that are more exotic than anything weʼve ever imagined. Hell, there may be forms of intelligence in this universe that have nothing to do with life evolving on the surface of a planet.

Sometimes people who believe aliens have visisted earth will say that when pre-Enlightenment people encountered certain phenomena, they lacked any paradigm except the supernatural to understand, so they called them “angels” or “gods” or whatever. But now we have the correct, scientific worldview, so we call them aliens.

But by “alien,” we mostly mean “people from other planets.” Why the hell would there be people on other planets? And on what basis do we declare that this phenomenon is that?

I really expected more debate on this one. I know I would skip having to see (or hear about) the stock photography if I could. But I yield to the consensus.
Generic stock photography attached to a story so it isnʼt just a wall of text?

Ummm.... So I found out how easy it is to make peanut butter...

Like.. It's peanuts. In a blender/processor. And that's it.

Like what the fuck.

I eat a lot of peanut butter. But I hated how much sugar was in it. I tried the "organic" or "sugar free" and its disgusting.

A local place makes peanut butter and focuses on flavored peanut butter (think cinnamon toast crunch peanut butter, spicy chili peanut butter, etc).

But I always just liked their plain peanut butter.

But it was so expensive.

But then I found out I could just buy the peanuts... shelled (meaning without shells on)... in bulk... and it's less than half the cost of even cheap store brand peanut butter....

...and it takes like 2 minutes to make.

And tastes amazing. And no added sugar... because I didn't add any sugar.

What the fuck.

I love this tree because it’s a reminder that you can still live a full life after a disaster:
