Hey everyone! I want to apologize for the delays today on tweesecake.social. It looks like a couple of our Sidekiq workers encountered errors without actually crashing, and since I hadn’t been checking Mastodon much, I didn’t notice right away.
Because of this, I think it’s a good time to bring on an additional server admin who can help keep an eye on things and respond more quickly if something goes wrong. If you’re interested, please get in touch and let us know why you think you’d be a good fit. Experience with Docker, databases, and Debian is required.
Thanks for your patience today, and sorry again for the disruption. Hopefully we can get a few more admins on board to help keep everything running smoothly.
Hey there! I'd just like to apologize for the short outage; it seems our database is getting a little on the big side, at around 95GB. This caused the local version of the backup to take a little too much disk space. I am now working on a solution to insure this doesn't happen again. Sorry for any inconvenience!
Hey everyone! Translation is now enabled on the TweeseCake.social mastodon instance. Enjoy! Note that the TweeseCake client does not support this directly as of yet, so you will need to use the web or an alternitive client to use this feature for now.
Maintenance is now completed.
Hi all, we are currently performing maintenance. If anything seems a little sluggish, don't worry. Everything will be back to normal soon.
Hi all!
We'd like to take this time to apologize for the couple hours of downtime; it seems a server update had gone rogue and had taken the services down with it. While it was an easy fix, both admins were on the road and were unable to remote in at the time. Precautions will be taken to insure this doesn't happen again.
Sorry again,
Your TweeseCake Team
Hello everyone and sorry for the downtime! It's all fixed now.
Just a heads up that we've just done a few updates and bumped the char limit for both posts and bios.
Just done a little tinkering and things should now be a lot faster on the instance; in short, streaming should now work correctly. A restart of TweeseCake (if that's the client your using) should help.
Hello. We would like to apologize for the downtime; we're back up and running now. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
