I built a custom Linux kernel from source over the weekend as an experiment/learning exercise. It seemed easier and more straightforward than I recall from the early 00s, which is the last time I would have built a kernel from source. I don't believe the build process has changed much since then, I think I've just gotten better at Linux.
Trump’s address went well, I take it? Allayed everyone’s worries and such?
The verses in "Bulletproof" by La Roux and "Duality" by Slipknot have a very similar rhythm and vocal cadence and every time I hear one or the other I get a mash-up of both stuck in my head for days

"He loses one boatload of oil"

Genius-level take. I'm sure Putin is just giving this oil to Cuba for free, and with no strings attached.

People always reference the Zune as a particularly bad Microsoft mis-step, but real OGs remember the Microsoft Kin which cost $1bn to develop and which ceased production < 2 months after launch.
I’m at the point in GTA: Vice City where the only missions I have left are all difficult and/or frustrating. There was so much low hanging fruit in the early hours of this game 😕
I’m honestly not sure if Trump is intentionally manipulating the stock market or if insiders are simply riding the waves of his addled brain https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/commodities/articles/oil-market-saw-trading-spike-063727323.html
Futures Markets Saw Trading Spike Before Trump’s Iran Post

(Bloomberg) -- Futures for oil and stocks worth billions of dollars changed hands just 15 minutes before a social media post from US President Donald Trump...

Yahoo Finance

Trump says they're negotiating, Iran says they're not. So either:

A) They are negotiating and it was supposed to be a secret but Trump blabbed

B) They aren't negotiating and Trump thought he could just lie and Iran had no way of disputing his claim

Both seem plausible, but I'm kinda leaning towards B. Trump has consistently shown that he doesn't think Iran has any agency here, and so far he's been proven wrong.

I naively assumed ISO standards were like standards from W3C, NIST, etc and you could just look at the whole thing for free
Jeez...I've never looked up an ISO standard before, I had no idea it cost money (and a lot of it) to look at an international standard! $311 CAD for ISO 27031, that's almost $10 per page wtf
