Years ago, I had written a program that sent randomly generated queries off to Google, Bing, and Yahoo, and then "clicked" on one of the top three results. The search results and link content were thrown away, but the gathered user profiles were wild. (I was a straight middle aged man at the time, but G was convinced I was a 23yo lesbian!)

We need to do the same to AI—generate large essays and computer programs with meaningless content and bogus code to make AI learning useless. #deathToAI

@gknauss Think of the poor airlines...
@evan Assumptions:
1) I would acknowledge meeting someone
2) I would in fact communicate with someone I just met
3) I would ever discuss "Bathroom Things" (despite having just sh*t myself because I just met someone)
4) I would ever discuss "Sex Things" because I don't discuss those things with my partner who I've been with for nearly 15yrs
5) I would ever discuss "Money Things" given that I remain unemployed
6) I would ever discuss "Feeling Things" because that is reserved for my therapist
@Hasufin @franoreilly @georgetakei Oh, we all know that this is Christian Nationalist shit and that they are going to turn this against us all, but both Satanism and Pastafarianism were reactions to CN shit in the past. Humor is important in defeating Fascism, both in public opinion and in the courts. Getting serious and acting concerned only serves their interests; laughing at their absurdity and highlighting their hypocrisy makes them insecure which leads to overreactions and their downfall.
@georgetakei We can only hope the Satanists and Pastafarians take advantage of this in return.

@glyph Sounds like you need to scratch your itch and write an elisp function to do the "unwrapping" for you...

In fact you could add hooks to wrap when opening the file, and unwrap when you save.

With a some real work you could make the wrap points a space in the file with a display overlay to show the newline; the end of sentences could be the punctuation and the following newline overlayed with the punctuation and a space. It would take some work but it could be an interesting side project.

“If I supply you with a tool to remove DRM (like some versions of Calibre), then I commit a felony and Amazon can have me sent to prison for five years for giving you a tool to move my book from the Kindle app to a rival app like Kobo. ... [E]ven though copyright law says you can format shift your books, music, videos, games, [etc.], DMCA 1201 (a ‘paracopyright law’) makes this an imprisonable felony if you have to break DRM first.” – @pluralistic

You Can Remove DRM From Your Digital Books, but It's Probably Illegal

DRM prevents you from downloading copies of books you've purchased from online storefronts, but is it legal to bypass DRM to create backups? Cory Doctorow, an expert on the DMCA, weighs in on the subject.

Try this test:

Take a headline, article, or political story from the past 20 years and replace the name of a conservative with the name of a comparable liberal, and vice versa.

If your reaction to the story changes from your reaction to the original version, then congratulations, you are NOT a free thinker and are influenced by politicians and the media to do their bidding.

@ammaratef45 I was first exposed to Emacs in 85, used it fairly heavily in the mid-90s (when I wasn't on MS or VAX), and it became my daily driver for the past 25 years (contributor for 20).

My most recent project was ~150 SQL and Python scripts. Generally Emacs is my world, except for corporate Web apps and email. I grew up on cli terminal interaction so I avoid pretty-for-the-sake-of-bring-pretty apps and this I will build shell scripts and type commands without complaint.
