I was at the airport yesterday and received a text message from DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade). Getting an automated text message whilst at the airport isn’t new. In fact I got one from Telstra too telling me about overseas call charges etc. What piqued my interest was that DFAT had somehow got a feed on what cell tower I was connected to. Im not sure how I feel about DFAT having casual access to the phone numbers who come within the vicinity of the phone towers that cover the airport.
