Wanted to put out there that I'm still #lookingforwork! In particular, any roles located in Canada from employers who are willing to sponsor a work visa would be a huge plus ^^

Oh right, I should probably put this out there, but I'm #lookingforwork! I'm a relatively recent college grad with a CS degree and the CompTIA Security+/Pentest+ certs; looking for remote jobs in the security industry. If you know of any junior positions open, I'd appreciate em being sent my way!

New blog post! I recently passed the OSCP+ exam, and did a little postmortem analysis of how it went and my recommendations for folks preparing for it :)

Taking the OSCP Exam: A Postmortem

Intro Hello all! It’s been a minute since I last posted, but I’d like to announce that I very recently took and subsequently passed the OSCP exam on my first attempt! In this article, I’d like to discuss my exam experience (without disclosing any of the details of the actual exam, mind you) and my tips and recommendations for people that are preparing for taking the exam. My Exam Experience Overall I found the OSCP to be definitely pretty challenging without feeling prohibitively difficult, which is an impressive feat of balancing to do over the course of several boxes.

I stumble into my hotel room. I have been awake for over 24 hours at this point. I see there's a coffee machine and try to operate it to get any caffeine in my system before realizing there's no water in the tank. I check the glass water bottle next to it. It's completely empty. There's a little tag on it that says "you can refill this bottle at one of our stations, scan the QR code on the back for directions!" That's weird. Is there some sort of special protocol for refilling water? Am I being charged per refill? After much grumbling, I finally scan the QR code and am treated to this:

Hacker gets annoyed at Amazon’s Kindle apps, reverse-engineers the Kindle web reader’s protocol (which basically sends each page as a set of glyphs in a deliberately broken variant of SVG). Such obscurity, much security.

How I Reversed Amazon's Kindle Web Obfuscation Because Their App Sucked

As it turns out they don't actually want you to do this (and have some interesting ways to stop you)
