not using mastodonI'm working on a Very Important Documentaries episode on "if you hate capitalism so much, why are you using an iPhone." The main point I'm eventually taking on is that people who dislike capitalism or are actively advocating against it do not have a choice but to exist in capitalism. We aren't hypocrites for using technology or trying to get paid for doing work - we have to pay to exist too.
I look forward to putting it out for people to watch. ☺️
nañiI'm sad. It seems like everyday I log on to twitter there's a new story about someone dying bc they're black, Muslim, a woman, lgbtq+ or all of those things combined. I feel hopeless like there's nothing I can do to help or stop it? And I wish I could. Like I really do. My heart literally hurts right now. I can't imagine what the families feel.

While we non-black Muslims have a right to react, let's also work on the antiblackness in our own community and stop erasing the identity of the black Muslims being attached by Islamophobes AND in-group antiblackness. Our solidarity is bullshit if we're only claiming them as sisters when we can make it about all of us but being antiblack otherwise.
