Previous #snowdye batch; veil, tablecloth, scarves. Color Consultant says: “It’s like a geode, but also kind of like an explosion.”
The tablecloth that went with the previous #snowdye veil. I probably should have put them in the same post, but I forgot I could do that. Modern technology is hard.
My hand-dyed scarves are now at Habilis Crafts in Broomfield, CO. I use #naturaldyes like iron and cochineal, as well as synthetic; all items are one-of-a-kind and can never be replicated. Come in and #shoplocal today!

Found a #needlefelting kit that I’ve had since the Before Times and decided to put it together. It’s therapeutic, stabbing something over and over and not having to think creatively about it!

The black bits are supposed to be trees, but I think they look a little like the tower of Sauron. So I asked my MERP GM if I could make a tiny needle-felted Barad-Dur for extra XP; he was non-committal. I bet he thinks I won’t actually do it.

Did a little #naturaldyeing over the weekend. Cranberry (will be overdyed later, as it’s fugitive), red onion and cochineal, yellow onion and cochineal, yellow onion.
I know it’s cold when the #cat will nest in something that smells like the kid.

The Respect for Marriage Act has just passed the House, 258-169, including 39 Republicans.

It will protect millions of LGBTQ families who otherwise would not have that protection. Senator Tammy Baldwin deserves enormous credit for her leadership in making this happen.

It is a very good thing that this bill is being passed, but it is also a signal of future obstacles. Do not get complacent. This does not end any battles for LGBTQ rights, but it does better prepare us for the battles to come.

Finally put up the restroom sign that a friend cut for us . . . back in March. This does not in anyway lower the amount of other art that needs to be hung up.
