If someone tells you there's nothing we can do about gun violence beyond thoughts and prayers, remind them:

We don't have to live like this.

I don't agree with Republicans very often, but Adam Kinzinger is right.

Donald Trump did suffocate the soul of the GOP.

The party is over, folks.

The elections in Ireland, the US and the UK over the next year or so will be a bench test on whether the politics of delivery can triumph over those of an increasingly endemic #fantasyland (pace @kurt): https://www.sluggerotoole.com/2024/01/12/long-read-next-irish-election-will-test-whether-what-a-government-does-makes-a-difference/
[Long Read] Next Irish Election will test whether what a government does makes a difference

In 2024 four billion people go to the polls: about half the population of the planet. In the US, poll watchers predict a Trump win in a campaign where he may spend more time in court than on the stump. In the early 1930s, Will Rogers, a lifelong Democrat joked that the reason Republicans nearly always won the Whitehouse back then was that they had a habit of having three bad years followed by one good one. “Bitcoin is primarily a speculative, volatile asset that’s also used for illicit activity including ransomware,[4] money laundering,[5] sanction evasion,[6] and terrorist financing.[7]” https://journa.host/@w7voa/111734109726584015
