Friday I will hold a small reading of a text-in-process at 15:30. Come by!
another update on the alphabetic work (with a slight redesign). I slowly feel a title approaching. Even though the project may seem methodic and rigorous I am actually making decisions based on whim and intuition rather than striving for completeness (something I already have to do in a lot of other projects). I am marking my favorite sequences. A modernist composition starts to form inadvertently.

slow process on said work; done with most paid work so life will be simpler for a few months. thinking about how words that start with DO often are quite bonky and lomp while words that start with AB are often very academic in tone - at least the ones I can think of. I am naming words based on two beginning letters - that is the only real rule of my algorithm for this work. I am learning how all words nested under such a two-letter combination have a kind of vibe together, form an emotional palet; I am also learning which sounds I like a lot (PL...) and dont like (JE...) as word beginnings. I wonder how much of that is dependent on (dis)similarity to my native Dutch. What is your favorite word at the moment?
interface for a new work; working with sound and duration; returning to the alphabet; thinking about all kinds of mouth's stuff; making a performance not by executing a script but by thinking in the moment, lagging, delaying, making thought visible; making a durational piece and falling asleep in the process.
short practice update

I have been a bit quiet on here, but I have been starting to conclude things; A legal process from 1731; A photography series on the Northern 18 hunebedden; A year of exploring photograms; The last words with an old love; A memoir of the last ten years; The book Authoring Autism by Remi M Yergeau; An article on the guestbook of a lesbian bar; and more. In the summer, I hope to fully round off many of these processes, opening space for new chapters to start. I am curious to hear if you are currently more in a space of starting or finishing chapters :)
Join us for the launch of Issue #01—the first publication of Platform Zandbank!

Zandbank is a space for slow reflection and sustainable criticism, resisting the rush of fast commentary. Issue #01 is a collection of texts by artists, curators, and writers—woven together through shared interests such as speculative fiction, ecology, technology, and ethics.
This magazine grew through collective engagement, shaped by group feedback sessions rather than a top-down editorial process. Now, we invite you to take part in the conversation!
The evening will feature readings, performances, and space for discussion—come buy your own copy, experience the contributions live, and toast to thoughtful criticism!

Juillet 2024.
