@trib @decryption I think it comes down to what protocol the device is using, or if there is an integration that can work with the device's API locally... matter or zigbee devices (eg IKEA stuff) are usually good to go straight in to HA, but I just got an LG washer and fridge, and the HA integration pulls data from the LG API via the cloud, so the devices had to be onboarded onto my LG app/account first...
@jordan hahah, almost, yes - his boundary is about 2 streets back from us, we’re still in a Labor electorate..
@jordan nah, not any more, built and moved a little while ago, all the way out in Byford..
@jordan @decryption I’m in the boonies, it’s too far to drive to the movies!
@decryption yeah, haven't noticed too many reflections so far, but a rug was definitely the plan. And I reckon the 12" sub will do me fine for now, or I'll have the neighbours on my case! Surrounds and height speakers to go up soon as well.
@decryption heeded your advice, and went with a big TV instead of a projector... definitely the right choice.
@caseyliss bonus challenge: start playback on the Vision Pro at the same time, then sit on your iPhone for the full experience! 😁
@decryption just realised that's not a new Tahoe feature, as it's in Sequoia now. And it's also under the "Spatial Audio" heading, and not the Lossless Audio setting, so I'm guessing it won't do what I was wondering anyway...
@decryption interesting.. does it only do it for Dolby/surround formats, or will it send Hi-Res lossless to your receiver, despite the current OS sample rate (eg exclusive mode)?
@decryption "Primitive membrane: Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP)" - I mean, that does sound like something you'd read on an audiophile forum...
