The English language is a wonderful thing, and we know some rules without knowing we know them.

‘Have you ever heard that patter-pitter of tiny feet? Or the dong-ding of a bell? Or hop-hip music? That’s because, when you repeat a word with a different vowel, the order is always I A O. Bish bash bosh. So politicians may flip-flop, but they can never flop-flip. It’s tit-for-tat, never tat-for-tit. This is called ablaut reduplication, and if you do things any other way, they sound very, very odd indeed.’ From ‘The Elements of Eloquence’ by Mark Forsyth.

Going from Utrecht to Hamburg was a sensory shock. The car noise from the main road outside Hamburg Hbf was deafening at times. You simply don’t hear that level of noise in Dutch cities. #CarsRuinCities
Really disappointed that Apple Watch doesn’t have a Swiss Railway clock face. #RailTooter

Learnt some Python and moved most of my heat pump control code to a new raspberry Pi.

This is what the crowds want.

@ElHadjiMurad Question Time tomorrow. They'll have Farage, and Figel Narage, and Nigella Farage, and Dan Wootton (for balance).
Is moa party dead? I think all cross-posters (and aren't we all?) have been stymied by bird-site charges for API calls.
The happy day has arrived. Say hello to my new family of 26(!)
No other country followed #Thatcher’s #privatisation of our #water industry. You can see why. Poor services. Poor investment. High prices. #Sewage dumped in our water systems. Huge payouts to executives and corporate shareholders for failure and now the prospect of UK taxpayers bailing out a failing water firm owned by China and Abu Dhabi
Yesterday ... finally over.

We can afford to house people.

We can afford to feed people.

We can afford to give people healthcare.

We just need to elect leaders who will actually do it, and vote out the politicians who won’t.
