Unlike other nations, we continue to let fear, profits for manufacturers, and support bases for politicians determine legislation that might restrict access to firearms.
I hold onto the frail hope of leading a church that might actually make a difference. And I pray with Christians across the ages “maranatha.” Come Lord Jesus.
This week I shed tears as I read Isaiah’s words and listened to families mourning the loss of loved ones to the unending wave of mass shootings,
“they shall beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks…
neither shall they learn war any more.”
I dream of this peaceable kingdom, where we melt down our AR15’s and turn them into tractor parts.
It seems so unattainable in a nation that sacrifices our children on the altar of ”right to keep and bear arms.”
