Intro!

I’ve been in the industry for about 12 years but I’ve been a long-time lurker. I was (am?) a member of 0x90 in my early days contributing to some of our tools. I did the artwork and ran the Halo tournament for Hack or Halo at #SchmooCon, and helped come up with the idea for Hack Fortress that I helped run for a few years. Keep the Golden Wrench going!!

I presented a few times at the OG CarolinaCon and some other industry conferences on #CRITs, #Yara, and other various topics.

My first real cyber security position was at #MITRE doing adversary engagement operations. I was the primary developer of the CRITs Threat Intelligence Platform while there and contributed to Chopshop, the modular protocol parser, and D20, an opportunistic file analysis framework. The work my team did laid the foundation for the original #ATT&CK framework and led to the MITRE Shield active defense framework (now run by another team and overhauled/renamed as our team has moved on over the years to other career opportunities).

I’m now working at #Cisco trying to help build and foster a world-class Threat Intelligence team.

I’ve found that my real passion is helping people succeed. I love the feeling of helping someone achieve their goals and do amazing things they never thought they could do. Seeing people be successful in their careers brings as much joy to me as any time I went head-to-head with an adversary.

I may not post as often as some because I am generally blown away by how awesome y’all are and get nervous speaking up. But hopefully I’ll lose that imposter syndrome some day!
