Are there any studies on how complete strangers with different life experiences can suddenly feel a deep connection, communicate with surprising ease and build a solid relationship at an uncanny speed?

I’m not talking about love at first sight or mutual understanding as a conscious, deliberate effort. It’s more like strong, natural empathy towards a unique person, a continuous flow of intellectual, emotional and physical sharing.

Asking for a friend… boosts appreciated :)

genus AND species? in this taxonomy?

*showing advisor a proposal for a study*

advisor: …

me: *grinning expectantly*

advisor: "This is never going to pass the ethics committee…"

me: *slumps*

advisor: "… but, it's gonna make for a great reality TV show!"

i wish wiktionary had a way to mark a word as part of a Sprachbund.

makar (Albanian, Bosnian / Croatian)
макар (Bulgarian / Macedonian, Serbian)
măcar (Romanian)

all spread thru the Balkansprachbund from Greek μακάρι

but there doesn't seem a sensible way to connect them
