This International Women’s Day, our Women in Science series features Christa Bücker. Originally from Germany, she studied at the University of Stuttgart, completed her PhD between Harvard Medical School in Boston and Utrecht University, and later worked as a postdoc at Stanford before becoming a group leader at the Perutz in 2015 🙌

Today, Christa shares an important perspective on finding role models and becoming one for the next generation 👩‍🔬

Fantastic News! 🙌 The Perutz is excited to welcome Danny Nedialkova as a new group leader starting this April! 🎉 Bringing her expertise in RNA biology and translation regulation from Technical University of Munich and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, she will strengthen the institute's research on the fundamental mechanisms that shape cellular physiology and disease ➡️ https://www.maxperutzlabs.ac.at/research/research-groups/nedialkova
Big success for postdoc Marek Kravec 💪 In this #SuccessStory, he shares what receiving the APART-MINT Fellowship from the Austrian Academy of Sciences means to him – and why he became a scientist in the first place 👀 Spoiler: it wasn’t his original plan 🤘🎸
👀 Curious about how RNA is shaped inside cells? Apply for a Master’s thesis in the Martinez Lab and investigate the mechanisms and functions of tRNA processing in health and disease ➡️ https://tinyurl.com/4hxm6x8p
Join the Vienna BioCenter Scientific Training as a Coordinator and play a key role in supporting the full administrative journey of PhD students! 🙌 If you are organized, enjoy independent work, and thrive in a dynamic setting, apply now ➡️ https://tinyurl.com/5sc2a37s

📸 One frame. Many voices. This year, we are celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science all year long by inviting our female scientists to 'step into the frame'. Each month, we will share perspectives from women across our community – different stories, one shared passion for science.

We are starting with Sumire (Leonard Lab) sharing her inspiring wish for the future ✨🔬
