@Ten and they aren't even lined up straight

thank you

For thousands of years, fermenting beer was considered a household task for #women.

By the Middle Ages, some sold beer at English markets. Female brewers wore tall, pointy hats to be easily spotted. They stood by cauldrons & often had cats to keep mice away.

Sound familiar? It should.

You see, when male brewers felt threatened, they accused the women of witchcraft. These rumors may have led to some witch iconography we still recognize today.

Women used to dominate the beer industry – until the witch accusations started pouring in

Today, beer is marketed to men and the industry is run by men. It wasn’t always that way.

do you know how difficult it is to educate the complacent masses? first, you have to get their attention, and be able to hold it. this isn't something that can come from outside; this has to be an internal, or intrinsic motivation. then, whether you are right or not still doesn't matter. you have to convince them. this requires understanding debate. see, you can't just tell them. you have to tell them what you are about tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them. and you have to do so more convincingly than hey hold any current prejudices. and it's only then that their bs, having been laid bare for all to see, will get a fair consideration.

I know all this and think about it, and sometimes find it so disenchanting that I want to be a fascist about it and just make the "bad-thought" illegal while killing all those who disagree. fortunately, I have you to save me.

@AVeryBadPerson I was explaining Machiavelli to someone today, and the question came up about banning "The Prince" and prosecuting its adherents
