Apparently a "tech media soulless hipster". Writes for Wired UK, The Observer, Empire, et al. It's pronounced KAM-en.

Current status: a throne for Jack

So what's the best #Mastodon app for #Android users? I'm currently using Tooot, but I don't seem to get notifications, despite allowing and enabling them. Anything better/more reliable out there?
That was an excellent #NintendoDirect - tonnes I'm excited by, and not just the bigger titles (Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime Remaster, etc) - I'm very pleased to see Baten Kaitos I&II HD, the Game Boy titles coming to Switch Online (though I DEARLY wish Nintendo would let us buy those games individually), the tease of a new Professor Layton game. #Nintendo has fed its fans well!

So, looks like the Bird Site is down. Tweets seem to largely be impossible to send, either directly, as replies, or via other platforms such as Tweetdeck. Fail Whale, 2023!

Terrible timing, given there's a #NintendoDirect airing right now! (Previously scheduled tweets seem to be coming through, given Nintendo's tweets timed for the trailers and announcements on the stream are appearing, but not much else!)

I'm not saying social media ads are bad*, but I literally don't know what this is even trying to sell - some sort of roll-on underarm deodorant botox-beater? Is it meant to stop your pits stinking or render your flesh immobile? And why does it apparently need to be applied by a professional wearing PPE? What IS IT?

(*I am saying exactly that)

GARDEN FRIEND CAME IN TO SAY HI!! 🤩
So, is there a good way of crossposting to Mastodon and Twitter at once, particularly from mobile? I haven't quite abandoned the bird site just yet, but posting to both separately is far more of a chore than I can be bothered with!

So, really, what is the point of audiences bothering to watch any show on Netflix now? Why get invested if everything is as good as gone?

(*I realise there's some uncertainty over Wednesday given the MGM/Amazon deal that might mean it moves service, but even so, Netflix's silence on the show's future can't fill audiences with confidence…)

If Wednesday had more time to breathe as a show - even 10-13 episodes, not necessarily the old, bloated syndicated standard of 22-26 - those story beats would have had more impact than they do in Netflix's heavily truncated, but seemingly now standard eight episodes.

And despite the flaws of the format and the miserly 8 eps, Wednesday was a stone cold HIT - and Netflix STILL* hasn't renewed even THAT!
