Because people share so much personal information online, they can start to feel like they know each other very well, even if they have never met in person. This can lead to people becoming overly invested in other people's lives and feeling entitled to their attention and validation.
Another reason why people in social networks are often narcissistic is because they can control how they are perceived by others. They can carefully curate their online persona to present themselves in the best possible light, which can lead to them having an inflated sense of self-importance.
