My app for remembering peoplehttps://www.revereapp.com

A little animation I made to make this list feel nicer. There's a subtle shrinking/growing of the checkmarks that I like looking at. Keeping selected items at the top is also convenient for long lists.

UPDATE: It's be 72hrs since launch and I'm happy to say it's been successful! No migration issues, no crashes. All the dashboards are quiet. So with that peace of mind, let me show you around the app.

A trailer I made for Revere with a nice little musical piece from my friend Jim Guthrie. I've got this featured on the App Store right now.

Launch day nerves are different when...
• The new version is a full, ground-up rewrite
• You’re migrating existing users
• You wrote all 14,000 lines of code yourself
and scariest of all…
• You're a first-time programmer 😬

I’ll share the link later if all goes well 🙂
Here we go!!!

Here's the design I came up with. It turned out to be a bit of a rabbit hole, but I learned a lot, and it’s my first custom animation from basic system shapes.

I had this badge telling users how many free items they had left. It was ugly so I decided to create something a little nicer.

Somewhere recently, handwriting recognition took a turn. Yesterday I sat by the lake and wrote a blog post on my iPad, and turned it into text with just a photo in Gemini.

Supporting larger text sizes in apps often gets deprioritized in apps. The thinking is there aren't enough people to make it worth the effort. I'm not happy to say I've de-prioritized it myself many times in my product career.

But because Revere is my own project though, I get to prioritize what I want. And because as people get older they become more interested in fostering their relationships, Revere skews towards people who don't have eagle eyes so a feature like this will be appreciated.
