@conradhackett When Chad achieved independence in 1960 Romania had the Coat of Arms of the Socialist Republic of Romania in the middle of the flag.However, in 1989, the coat of arms was removed entirely after the revolution which overthrew communism and the two flags became very similar. Romania had used this flag starting 1866 with different coat of arms till 1989 when it was removed entirely.
