@atpfm @marcoarment I have transition glasses, which are completely clear and transition very quickly, perhaps within a minute. My problem is that they transition whenever there is little bit of sunshine, even in winter, and they just look very silly when they are dark. I also have prescription sunglasses and prefer them, but obviously then I need to carry two pair of glasses.

@NathanKing, what do you mean by specialized skills? Models trained for specific programming-related purposes?

@atpfm And by the way, I recently used Gemini to create a very simple program that parses a FontLab JSON file and converts the glyphs to SVG. The code generated by Gemini worked for the most part (it kept tripping over the same issue, coming up with “fixes“ that just made everything worse), but its quality was so poor that I decided to rewrite it from scratch. I wish good luck to anyone who needs to debug large codebases generated by non-programmers using AI.

@atpfm Nowadays, anyone can create a website and take photos with their smartphone, but that does not make them a professional web designer or photographer. The same will be true for programming. Mediocre programmers will have a hard time justifying their existence. The complexity of modern software has also increased drastically. We are going to need more programmers, not less. I believe more people will need to do “programming“ as part of their job.
