You know you’re at a punk show when the 25 minute set has 19 songs.
How is betting on “simulated racing” (horse & greyhound) even a thing and legal?

Stolen from Industrial Light & Magic's official Instagram account, here's a video before and after of Severance season 2. The amount of work involved I find is both utterly invisible and mind blowing at the same time.

If you want to know more, check out the most recent episode of Lighter & Darker, the ILM podcast.

Just under two weeks to go of these four and a bit months off. In some ways the time has flown by, in others it’s gone pretty slow which is nice.

Didn’t get to a lot of the TODO list I thought I would, but did get to do most of the stuff I really wanted to do like travel and just chill.

Haven’t touched anything work intersecting during my time off, hopefully I still remember how to JavaScript.

I need to get in touch with my manager sometime to work out how I can unlock my work login…

Was pleasantly surprised to find my neurodivergent kid gets to play Dungeons & Dragons for Friday sport in high school, especially since it’s a Catholic school.

Wasn’t D&D (and heavy metal) supposed to be tools of the devil in the 80s? 😅

Positives:
- managed to get tickets to Parkway Drive’s one off show at the Opera House concert hall (with an orchestra)!

- saw most of Slipknot (who I’d seen play in Adelaide last night) in the Qantas Club briefly before they went off to their private charter.

What a long day.. left the hotel in Adelaide at 10am and still not home at almost 9pm (was expecting to be back about 4)

Flights got changed, had to go via Melbourne to get to Sydney - waited over 2h extra at Adelaide airport, but at least the connection was on time. Was in the lounge at least.

Now the train got delayed for almost an hour by a track issue. But we’re moving again.

Also realised it’s Adelaide Fringe, so maybe I’ll go to some random comedy show at some point.

Today marks the half way point of my sabbatical. Pretty happy with how that feels time wise, feels like forever since it started with Christmas.

Kids are settled in school, so March is solo adventure time. Heading to Adelaide tomorrow to do a wine tour of the Barossa (somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for ages), and see Slipknot without having to go to an outdoor festival (Knotfest).

In two weeks it’s Singapore and Thailand for street food, beaches, snorkelling, and just generally relaxing.

Exciting! https://www.atlassian.com/blog/inside-atlassian/atlassian-williams-partnership I assume this means all staff get a pit lane pass? 😅 #formula1 #f1
