Want a quick profile who's on an instance? Checkout the emoticons. On mstdn.social/tusky, there's at least 500 🐱 . On mastodon desk browser, there's a good 100 🚋 / :objects: 🖊️ . and LOTS of 👫 👭 👬

People are burning out and there are no replacements. Time to raise salaries. 💰
I've multiple accounts only because of difficulty logging in from different devices. I would combine them, but my profiles are diverging as I respond to my audience(s). A friend on mstdn.social tells me "representation matters." I get it.

I made it to the first page of 'Explore Mastodon'. How did that happen? Persistence pays off I guess. Note to self: apply some persistence to website.

But I can't figure out how to navigate my logins between fediverse, mastodon.social and mstdn.social. I keep looking and discovering new rooms in the mastodon mansion, but am baffled.

Hmm, when its not self explanatory, move on to the next post. Most everyone including myself repeat ourselves after an interval.

Trump's playbook is also to kowtow to militia insurrectionists, unhinged conspiracists, fascists and white trailer trash.

The story of a desperate man. A good moral tale on what not to do to get into the history books. But it worked for awhile.

People used to own their own websites in the pre-social media phase.

The ISP model was web hosting. Everyone would be a publisher. Everyone would have their own website.

Now the model is: you provide the content for someone else's website, for free. You don't own it, and it is used for a comprehensive surveillance system like the world has never seen to not only observe, but to manipulate and influence your affect and conduct. It is aggregated and used by every government and large corp.

Ballad of a Thin Man
Bob Dylan
"You raise up your head
And you ask, "Is this where it is?"
And somebody points to you and says
"It's his"
And you say, "What's mine?"
And somebody else says, "Well what is?"
And you say, "Oh my God
Am I here all alone?"

But something is happening
And you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

"Sometimes I feel bad about that, honestly."
Don't be. When you're on your deathbed, you won't be bemoaning the hours you spent away from work.

One study found that nurses who worked rotations of night shifts followed by day shifts reported lower job satisfaction, reduced quality and quantity of sleep, and more frequent fatigue, as well as psychological and cardiovascular symptoms. (that's why supervisors give them to the young 'uns)
