Walter Isaacson, who has written biographies of Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin, and Steve Jobs is soon to release a book about Elon Musk.

It will be titled “Elon Musk”, but I think it’d be more appropriate to have called it “Four Geniuses and a Fuckwit.”

I'd heard of "rolling coal" but I hadn't been a target of it until yesterday, when I was driving up US 101N south of Petaluma when a red truck passed me on the right and sent several waves of billowing clouds of noxious black exhaust at me in my EV.

There are folks who spend between several hundred and several thousand dollars to modify their diesel vehicles to spew black dense pollution at the flick of a switch.

After he* passed me and pulled sufficiently ahead… no more smoke: it wasn't just a truck with bad exhaust: it was intentional.
And later, when I saw him* pass a Tesla, only then was there more smoke. And that's the tell: these assholes like to smoke out EVs, hybrids, bicyclists, pedestrians… anyone who seems to actually give a fuck about the environment.
