Here is my (slightly less unhinged than I expected) musings on the current state of designing for the web.

Generally, I think we lost something when we stopped calling people web designers and forced people to pick a side.

It's 2023, here is why your web design sucks.

Exploring the reasons why we no longer have web designers.

"what data do you have" Me, bitch. I'm the data.
April in Chicago is so frustrating. There's always one or two sunny 75 degree days, but the rest of them flirt around 50, and you just want to ride your bike on the lake and not feel frozen, but we aren't there yet... so we wait

Finishing #Swarm today. I'm so intrigued. I haven't read any criticism yet, because I wanted my own reaction to be unbiased, but I know they are out there.

Why should society ADAPT to machines rather than making tools that WORK for us?

“We can do so here. Let's enjoy a long AI summer, not rush unprepared into a fall.”
The only people having an “AI summer” are the billionaires & tech bros. Workers are being exploited, artists are talking about committing suicide, and gig workers are struggling to pay any bills.

I'm not against AI, I just want folks to keep their creativity and critical thinking skills and not concede that we have none left. Use the tools. Don't let them use you.
A coworker today said Guthub Co-pilot "read his mind" and I nearly lost it. 😳 😅
Just one year, I'd like to feel like I'm not having a career crisis
