Forgot to put this on last weekend. I was really pleased with that week’s tangling journal pages, especially the daffodils. I’ve done some this week but not both pages so it will be later in the week for the next one. Too much work the last week.
When your ice cream is rock hard, let it melt in the sun (although not really hot enough for this to work I appreciate he knew this would work). First ice cream trip of the year, he was silent in the shop but helped pay and in the end ate a new flavour when he tried both sorts I got us. Nice to get him out of the house.
A good Saturday. A bit of colouring in my tangling book with coffee, a couple of hours of work (should have done more but it was sunny and tomorrow will be rain again), nice walk in the sunshine, seeing cherry blossoms and playing Pokemon Go (kid didn’t want to go out), chatted with the kid lots about Minecraft, read my book for a while on his bed, and got video of him telling me it’s 8 o’clock again as Minecraft is gone away. Looking forward to bolognese for dinner, Starfleet Academy when he’s asleep and some more colouring.
My next tangling journal pages, took longer to get these done due to work. The sunset for the cats was me experimenting with ink for the previous lion picture, so I added cats and the wall. The flower spray was already printed in the book so I coloured and added the butterfly. The tiles were on the back of a previous page where I’d used alcohol markers so they’d leaked through and I coloured and added to it.
Next stage of our science project was to draw the skeleton. I drew the skull to start him off then he did the rest with guidance. #homeschooling
Realize I didn’t post this last weekend! These are my journal pages for last week. I really wanted to do the lion stencil I’ve had for a little while. Not sure I’ll get pages done this week as I’ve been too tired in the evenings. @FiddleSix
Next science #homeschooling project is a longer one. A drawing of his body in various layers. Brought on by a discussion we had last week when he spotted blue veins on his arm and was worried. So tonight we drew around his body (not easy with a wiggling 9 year old who for some reason thought it would hurt). Then each week we will add a layer on tracing paper including bones, muscles, veins and nerves, and main organs he knows. Teacher suggested it be a two month project as it’s tax season and she knows I’m swamped with work. Need to order a roll of tracing paper next. He was pleased with it afterwards and naturally had to draw his hair and face on it 😂
Colour science experiment done this week. Counts for both science and art 😂. He was interested in it and commented on the colours and willingly coloured in the results chart. Very messy but thankfully the food dye came off my hands easily 😂. Mason jars in a circle with kitchen towels dipped in each, dyed water travelled up each towel and mixed colours. The blue and red didn’t really go purple but we chatted about how experiments sometimes don’t work but that it should have come out purple #homeschooling
Last week’s tangling journal. Did the second page with alcohol markers so that it was quicker than pencils. Pleased though as it’s very vibrant. @FiddleSix
Kept it basic for the first one. Blending worked I think
