Hi @2E0RKE, It's a feedback network. in this circuit it is used to stabilise (prevent oscillation) and also to adjust the input and output impedances. You can see the behaviour before & after that network modelled here - https://github.com/M0YCX/ycx_rf_notebooks/blob/master/Amplifiers/feedback/Feedback_Amplifier_Studies/2SC2498.ipynb under headings "2SC2498 Bias:4mA, F:70MHz" vs "2SC2498 Bias:4mA, F:70MHz, with feedback" note the impedances/swr and the stability plots go from red to blue... I'm only learning this stuff too btw - the math is fascinating, if mind blowing at times

Post-Helene Update and the Importance of Radio After a Natural Disaster

No matter where you live in the world, everyone should have a battery-powered or self-powered (hand-crank) portable radio in their home. Recently, the pace of articles here on the SWLing Post has slowed down. That’s because I live in Swannanoa, North Carolina—a town that was particularly hard-hit by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Helene, which brought unprecedented rainfall and caused widespread…

An RF Feedback Amplifier Calculator in python jupyter notebook - https://m0ycx.github.io/posts/FeedbackAmplifier/ learning from the Wes Hayward's books Experimental Methods in RF Design and Introduction to Radio Frequency Design - and following the math ;-) #hamradio #electronics
RF Feedback Amplifier

I’ve written a Jupyter Notebook in Python that mirrors the functionality of Wes Hayward’s Feedback Amplifier calculator fba08.exe that is provided with his book Experimental Methods in RF Design - and following the math in his earlier book Introduction to Radio Frequency Design (- both truly excellent books!).

@gamingonlinux So, we have officially reached Step 6 in the AI Hype Cycle.

Edit: Might also be Step 7 already.

A Grand Unified Theory of the AI Hype Cycle

I’m sorry, but as an AI language model, I cannot repeat history exactly. However, I can rhyme with it.

Hi All,
I'm a recent addition to Amateur Radio. Came in to the hobby interested in SDR & Datamodes, but now find myself rekindling a childhood passion for electronics...
