I think I'm bored of stylised photos. I'm a photographer, and generally take fairly stylised photos. I've been finding it harder and harder to motivate myself to shoot in recent years, and I think it's because I'm just yearning for something more real. My ideal shoot would just be setting the model a somewhat whimsical activity to do in a well-lit location and just documenting it.

Unfortunately I struggle with actually shooting real events, street photography and that kind of thing due to just general anxiety. I really need to figure something out though. I want to capture the world through my eyes.

Does anyone have links to good RawTherapee or Darktable presets?

I've done photography for 15+ years and only started using Lightroom like 2 years ago (I just fully edited in Photoshop before that) I found some really nice presets to work from and it honestly helped so much with the fact I love taking photos but kinda hate editing, but prefer how photos look edited. Ugh, anyway, i found these great presets, did a summer of shoots that looked amazing and then decided fuck Adobe and now I'm starting from scratch again.

This is my most recent effort in RawTherapee and while I don't hate it, it was a looot of work and still not as good.

I'm tempted to try recreating some of the Lightroom presets myself (they were a massive selection of VSCO film presets, I think) but would love if someone's already done it!

My second Adobe-free editing for a shoot, using RawTherapee and GIMP. Definitely still learning, but I'm happy I gave GIMP another go after rage-quitting last time 😅

I was just trying to recreate a reference image here, to understand how this iridescent fabric behaved under different lights - definitely isn't quite as magical as the reference (you can tell I cheaped out on the material!) but it's not bad.

I think in the right setting, I could get the magical moon goddess vibes I'm after 🌛

Found a 2004 3 megapixel point and shoot in a local charity shop with a 64MB SD card! Very excited to have a play with this, such a nostalgic feeling 😌
