An' ye harm none, do what ye will

The first principle is that you must not fool yourself – and you are the easiest person to fool.

@rigatonimonster I was speaking to a scientist working on biotech policy in Guatemala and she was telling me about how the Belgian government was concerned about the quality of cocoa that they import from Guatemala partially because it's a price negotiation point. They ended up crafting a set of QC assays that needed to be done on cocoa but (at least at that time) the capacity to do those assays were exclusively in Belgian control. So, fewer profits from the crop were able to stay in Guatemala.
She's a complicated, engaging, empathetic, and wildly intelligent person that I've had the privilege to know for going on a decade.

She was a core reason why Play Vicious was what it was, and as much as I value my role in founding it, she breathed life into it and helped to shape its culture down to the bones.

The fedi is exceptionally fortunate that she is still here, giving her insights because she believes this place can be more than it has shown.

Happy birthday

Your best days are still ahead of you, homie.
Forget about driverless cars, I want driverless printers.

does anybody in seattle wanna trade my ukulele plus case for a bike?

Look

I'm really happy you're keen on writing code for the fediverse, and writing tools and stuff

and I don't know why this keeps happening

but the very first rule of writing things that interact with the fedi is EXPLICIT OPT-IN.

We have not opted in to you by virtue of being on a social network.

It is not enough to ask, or assume that public means you don't need to ask.

We need to choose to add ourselves to your tool.

That's it.

That's the post.

LOL, it will always be funny how upset people get because there's a consequence to their decision to throw unprovoked racism and hate my way.

You could always, you know, not be racist, but apparently, people can't separate who they are from who they are conditioned to be.

There's never going to be a moment where I don't identify hate and bigotry when I see it.

Not being able to see who they are outside of that is not my problem.

Because it's not that hard not to be a garbage person.
Concern yourself with who you are, not who others think you are. You cannot control how they see you, so why would you allow them to control how you see yourself?
95% of the time someone says “no pun intended”, it actually was intended, so you could say 9.5 puns in ten did

Help a fellow out pls.

I’m looking to follow #photographer who work on projects. We all have styles, themes and motifs within our work but some photographers work with a particular project in mind.

If that’s you, say hi and tell me about your project. If it’s not you but you know of others who do, also tell me.

I’d also be grateful if you could boost this post so it reaches as wide an audience as possible.
