Forget about driverless cars, I want driverless printers.
Oh great, apparently there's a printer stuck in the middle of SF's Bay Bridge now

@ccanonne dear lord you really hate printers.

I'm with you on that. I've been sending my boss documents to print on my behalf for about a year now because the damn thing doesn't work on my computer and IT can't figure it out

@eb have you tried to turn IT off and on again?

@ccanonne No, but I'll be sure to do IT in the morning if I can turn one on by then 😏

Sorry. That was terrible and I apologize sincerely.

@ccanonne @astraluma we had that now suddenly they’re doing it again and I hate it. I had a decade of my wifi printer AND it’s scanner *just working* on my mac, and now I need a special app.
@ccanonne Buy PostScript 🎉
@teal PostCrypt? Is this some necromancy/mail delivery?
@ccanonne It shall print documents unspeakable from times beyond!
@ccanonne How about driverless digital projectors?
@ccanonne Cars and printers can both get thrown in the same hole. What are we doing to ourselves?!
@ccanonne Careful what you wish for. This essentially exists in the shape of Apple’s AirPrint. Basically a standardised HTTP API for submitting PDF documents to print, discoverable via mDNS. Sounds great, right? It is, until you find out that you’re now dealing with each printer manufacturer’s buggy PDF implementation instead of buggy printer drivers.
