4 February 1925 | A French Jewish woman, Ginette Kolinka (née Cherkasky), was born in Paris.

She was deported to #Auschwitz from Drancy in April 1944. She was transferred to Bergen-Belsen and then to Theresienstadt. She survived.
Today she turns 100.

15 December 1922 | A Polish Jew, Henryk Mandelbaum, was born in Olkusz.

In Auschwitz from 22 April 1944.
No. 181970
He escaped during evacuation.

One of the few surviving Sonderkommando prisoners forced to work in gas chambers and crematoria.

He passed away in 2008.

'When I saw it all, I was stunned, as if a current ran through my body. It reminded me of my mother's words, that I would go to hell if I wasn't a good person. I saw just such a hell.'
